What is Keto?

Keto is about eating high fat, very low carbohydrates and moderate amounts of protein. By eating this way, your body will move into a state of “ketosis”. Ketosis is a state where your body turns fats into ketones and uses these for energy. The body will use glucose (sugar) stores before it uses ketones, so to get the benefits of ketosis, we need to change the way we eat.

Eating food which is very low carb (20g per day or less), high fat and moderate protein is what we recommend in this group. Our way of doing keto is aiming to do it is a healthy way that is manageable long term. Sticking with real, whole food where possible but knowing that life contains a lot more than meat, vegetables and healthy fats for many of us.
